Site updates!
In lieu of a counter, I've added a map. How cool am I? Yeah.
We're two American women living in Vietnam. Having ceased trying to make sense of our surreal lives, we decided instead to transform them into this comic strip for the amusement of the public.
The title, Em Oi, is a pun in Vietnamese. "Oi" is a calling particle; it means something like "Hey!" "Em" is the pronoun used to refer to younger people: it means "little brother or sister". Em is also the name of the older one of us. "Em oi!", therefore, is what either of us yells across crowded rooms, market squares, or chat lines to get each other's attention.
A surprising number of these strips are drawn verbatim from actual conversations. Please feel free, though, to infer creative license into anything embarrassing to ourselves.
Enjoy!

I removed the banner and site description from the universal template because it looked cluttered. Additional changes will be made as soon as I figure out what I want the site to look like (something more specific than "prettier").
Ah, javascript: file under "Stuff I studied at University that I seriously thought I would never need again, ever". No, Ly, I can see you're about to make a joke about my entire degree. Bad. No.
Em Oi! will now be updating three times a week: Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
I won't promise that won't be in Vietnam days.
